Overview
The mission of the Gordonsville Police Department is to protect persons and property by providing essential law enforcement and public safety services. This is done by providing law enforcement services to all citizens and visitors primarily by high visibility community policing.

The Gordonsville Police Department will be a model of community-based police practices.

Effective community policing requires the active participation of civic groups, business leaders, churches, schools, and other local government support agencies in addition to police personnel. We will work for a close, interactive relationship between officers and community members with the goal of reducing crime and its effects.

We will always strive to ensure our personnel are operationally competent, and are able to convert policy and training into effective practice.

We provide service that makes a difference!

The Town of Gordonsville police department consists of six full-time officers, six auxiliary members (four of which are sworn officers), one full-time civilian and one part-time community service officer.

The Town Police officers patrol the town and respond to local emergencies. The office can be reached at 832-2234 in non-emergency situations. For emergencies, citizens should call 911.

Please display your E911 address!
A properly displayed E911 address is critical to successful emergency service response. Without it, fire, rescue and law enforcement agencies cannot effectively answer an emergency call for help. Addresses should be visible from the street and free from obstructions. Free address placards are available from the county. For information or assistance with E911 addressing issues, contact Barbara Crozier, Orange County Building Department, at (540) 672-4574.
