Street Sweeping
Residential street sweeping is a service provided by the Town of Gordonsville.

Reasons for street sweeping include:
  • Reducing the pollutant load to the river (leaves, pet/animal debris, heavy metals, oils, grease, sediment, etc.)
  • Keeping the State storm drain system from clogging by removing material that might block lines reducing the amount of flooding during heavy rainfall
  • Beautifying our streets and community
 
Road Problems
Most of the roads within the Town of Gordonsville are maintained by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).  If the road that you want to report has a black and white state route number it is a State maintained roadway and the problem should be reported to VDOT at 1-800-FOR-ROAD (1-800-367-7623).  If you want to report an problem with a Town roadway or if you are uncertain about where to report you may contact Town Hall at 832-2233.

 
Traffic Signs and Pavement Markings
Traffic signs and pavement markings for most of the streets within the Town limits are the responsibility of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
 
Snow and Ice
VDOT is responsible for snow and ice removal on most of the streets within the Town of Gordonsville.  The Gordonsville Public Works Department is responsible for snow and ice removal on the few Town streets.

You may report any hazardous road conditions to the Orange County Sheriff's Department at 540-672-1200 and they will forward the information to the appropriate persons.
