The Virginia Aviation Board has awarded funding to the Town for runway, taxiway and apron improvements. Slated to begin in the summer of 2021, permitting delays have pushed back the project start date to the early spring of 2022. The project will include runway flattening and widening, re-pavement and new lighting. View news story here.

The runway will be closed during construction, but airport tenants and users may continue to access their hangar space and aircraft.
