Board of Architectural Review

Overview

The Board of Architectural Review (BAR) is tasked with the review and approval of requests for Certificates of Appropriateness for exterior improvements of property located within the Town's Historic District.

Members

The BAR consists of five members appointed by Town Council for a four-year term.  All members of the BAR must be a resident of the Town, own a business within the district, or own property within the district.  At least one member of the BAR shall have professional training or equivalent experience in architecture, history, architectural history, archaeology, or planning.  At least three members shall be owners of a business or own property within the district.  One member of the BAR may be a Town Planning Commission member.
