Town Manager

The Town of Gordonsville operates under a council/manager form of government. As such, Town Council is responsible for establishing policy, appropriating funds, adopting ordinances, and establishing a vision for the town.

The Town Manager is the town's chief administrative officer responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Town, coordinating the efforts of the town's police, public works, planning and zoning, treasurer and visitor center. The Town Manager is responsible for developing the Town's annual budget and carrying out the policies set forth by Town Council.  

In Gordonsville, the Town Manager also serves as the Town's Zoning Administrator, Subdivision Agent, and Airport Manager. The position is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Gordonsville Town Council.

Deborah S. Kendall is the Gordonsville Town Manager. A native of Gordonsville, Debbie is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), the Virginia Local Government Managers Association (VLGMA), and the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
