Town Water Safe to Drink and Use

To our Town of Gordonsville Water Customers:

The earthy odor and taste observed by some of our water customers late last week and over the weekend continues today. Water tests for chlorine on Friday and yesterday show chlorine levels that exceed the requirements of the Virginia Department of Health. Please note: despite the earthy odor and taste, the water is safe to drink and use.  The Town will continue to monitor chlorine levels this week to ensure continued water quality.

The Town purchases its water from the Rapidan Service Authority. RSA has begun flushing their water lines to help reduce the earthy odor and taste of water in the system.

Anyone with questions or concerns about their water should contact the Gordonsville Public Works Department at 540-832-0877.
